After the annual Christmas Party for 4300 children with a sickness, disadvantage or disability on Thursday. More than 700 people attended the annual fundraising ball on Friday.
They heard Chris Beaven say how there were 800 children on the waiting list for the annual Christmas Party this year. And how she was planning two parties next year so more could come.
Mrs Beaven also spoke of how the generous community was helping KidzWish realise a dream of building a bigger facility for all the programs it runs.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra and Kiama MP Gareth Ward announced he had $15,000 from the Baird Government to help achieve that goal.
Shellharbour City Council has made some community land available for an affordable lease for that purpose.
There was also an 80th birthday cake for music maestro Geoff Harvey who led the band. Entertainment was also provided by Peter Helliar who spoke of how much he loved being a dad.
Both events were two months in the making, involved more than 400 volunteers and involved five days of setting up at WIN Entertainment Centre.
