A young Dapto couple are having ghoulishly good fun selling their first home with its killer backyard.
A huge shed mural of infamous fictional murderer Jason in a scene from the Friday the 13th movies has become a talking point at open house inspections.
"One agent recommended we paint over it but we could never do that because it was done by a good friend [Adam Rizvic] who spent weeks getting it right," said Samantha Dorahy, who co-owns the house with Luke Brash.
"I'm just sorry we can't take it with us," she said.
Their agent, Flynn Rutty from Ray White at Figtree, said he was happy to take on the listing and thought the mural was an interesting selling point.
"I think it's vibrant and clever and most of the responses so far have been positive," he said.
Ms Dorahy, who took over Dorahy Meats from her father Pat, says she and partner Mr Brash, a butcher and musician, are Friday the 13th movie fans and they did not have any reservations about splashing the knife-wielding Jason over their shed-laundry.
"Luke and I know Adam from school and his art has always been great so we had no qualms about letting him decorate the shed," she said. "He started the job at a backyard barbie and we were amazed he could get such accuracy with a spray can while he was having a few beers.
"Our friends - even my parents - really like it and think it's a great backdrop for backyard entertaining."
Mr Rutty said it had made open houses more interesting.
"I've had quite a few people through in the past two weeks and only a few suggested they would paint over the mural if they bought the property," he said.
