Currently hovering outside the top four at 4-6, the Hawks host Sydney on Wednesday ahead of home clashes with Townsville, Melbourne and Cairns.
They’ll need to win at least three of the four or risk losing touch with the finals race but veteran swingman Kirk Penney said his side can’t afford to look past the Kings .
“Obviously they are [important] because they’re all home games but I don’t want to focus on four games. I want to focus on one,” he said
“Everything in my mind right now is on Sydney on Wednesday. You don’t want to look at it as a set.”
Star import Josh Childress will return for the Kings but Penney said the Hawks’ focus has been inward.
“Right now I think we just need to take care of ourselves,” he said.
“Until you take care of your own home it’s hard to really even focus on them.”
