The cargo hauler is carrying about 25 tonnes of waste for Australia following reprocessing in France.
The latest satellite track shows the ship is about 400km off the coast of Western Australia, headed for Port Kembla via Bass Strait.
After landing the vessel will be unloaded and the waste will be trucked to Lucas Heights for storage.
The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation, which owns the shipment, says it is “intermediate level” waste.
A major police operation is planned for next Saturday and Sunday in anticipation of protests. Greenpeace has said it will not try and stop the shipment’s passage.
