The Lakers ended a three game losing skid by dismissing the Rats for 119 after being asked to bowl first, then cruising to victory with seven wickets in hand.
Mark Ulcigrai was the difference, taking 3-6, plus making an unbeaten 81 in an man-of-the-match display.
‘’Mark was outstanding for them,’’ Rats skipper Michael Arblaster said.
Arblaster (39) top-scored, while Ben Mitchell made 26 for Oak Flats with both players leaving for Newcastle straight after the match, ahead of the Country Championships final.
The Rats were in the game at 4-97, but then lost 6-22.
Meanwhile, Kookas are the only side with two wins after two T20 rounds following an easy eight wicket away victory over Kiama.
The young Kiama side was dismissed for just 57, with Mick Perry (2-11), Kishen Patel (2-2) and Kookas skipper Craig Bramble (2-14) doing the damage.
Scott Peachman (35no) ensured the match was over in just 9 Kookas batting overs.
‘’We really bowled and fielded well. It was a top performance,’’ Bramble said.
‘’With Rats losing it’s really opened it up as to who makes the final. You need to keep winning now which sets it up nicely.’’
