The victim had just finished a shift at Boost and was crossing the road near Station Street when a navy Suzuki hatch-back failed to stop in time.

One witness also crossing at the same time said the female was thrown onto the windscreen before rolling onto the ground.

She was taken to Wollongong hospital by ambulance.
