A mini traffic jam clogged Hooka Creek Road in Berkeley today as dozens of residents attempted to make the most of a free household chemical collection.
The Household Chemical Spring Clean was held by the NSW Environment Protection Authority to enable residents to rid their homes and garages of materials such as solvents, batteries, motor oils, fuels and fluids.
One resident described the resulting traffic snarl as ‘‘chaotic’’, with some motorists attempting to get past the queue by driving on the wrong side of the road.
The collection ended at 3.30pm.
