Motorists won’t get to feel a brand new smooth surface beneath their wheels on the Princes Highway Gerringong until mid-December at the earliest. Rain has delayed applying the final surface as part of the $340 million upgrade between Mount Pleasant and Toolijooa Road. Work is now scheduled to be finished by December 18, but could be pushed back until January next year is further rain causes havoc. If that does occur, road works will cease over the Christmas break to ease the stress for holiday makers.
