The Culburra product debuted for the club in round nine of the 2013 season before playing 15 of his 22 games for the Dragons at fullback in 2014.
His early season form that year in place of the injured Josh Dugan prompted coach Paul McGregor to swith Dugan to centres for the bulk of the season.
Quinlan shifted briefly to Parramatta prior to the 2015 season before making a mid-season switch to the UK Super League with St Helens in July this year.
He will be one of several contenders vying for the Dragons custodians role should McGregor again decide to shift Dugan into the centres in 2016.
“Adam was keen to return to Australia and took the opportunity to re-sign with the club at a time when we were looking for further depth at the back,” football manager Ben Haran said.
“He is a well-liked player who will fit in well with the culture here at the Dragons.”
