It involves trying to find the main character, dressed in red and white, and other characters from an intricately drawn web of characters and images from a larger illustration.
It’s quite good fun, but at times frustrating.
What’s not so much fun, but is more than frustrating, is we have a Federal Minister doing his own Where’s Wally? impersonation in Canberra.
Federal Industry Minister Christopher Pyne, since taking office, has been pretty good at blending in with the scenery in relation to the future of the Port Kembla steelworks.
Port Kembla steelworkers have made large sacrifices of their own to keep the steel industry alive in this country.
Their sacrifices have cost 500 of the steelworkers their jobs.
Yet what has the Federal Government done in response?
Very little.
In fact, the Federal Government’s contribution to this region over a long period could be seriously questioned.
Here we have an issue of national importance and they are barely seen or heard.
Australian Workers’ Union Port Kembla branch secretary Wayne Phillips confirmed to the Illawarra Mercury yesterday a glaring example of the Minister’s disinterest.
When Illawarra steel campaigners attended Canberra last week they were forced to meet with the Minister’s minders instead, while the Minister sat in a room next door.
We questioned the Minister’s office directly on that matter yesterday and unsurprisingly, while other questions were answered, that one was not.
To add to the embarrassment, the Minister clearly had no idea in which electorate the Port Kembla steelworks actually resided during a response to a question without notice in Parliament this week.
It again reinforces the level of disinterest the Federal Government has to being part of the solution for a better deal for Australian steel.
The steelworkers of the Illawarra have done their bit.
The NSW Government has at least stepped up to the plate somewhat.
The Federal Government?
We are ‘’steel’’ waiting.
