Ms Brown replaces Matt Davidson. She has been on the board for two years and is keen to see more tourism infrastructure investment and views the potential to tap into the cruise ship market as a great opportunity.
Destination Wollongong also wants to see a well-designed and implemented plan for the Mt Keira precinct.
“I am also a big supporter of the expansion of the current entertainment centre. We need to build on our existing infrastructure and grow more jobs in the region,” she said.
Ms Brown is joined on the board by deputy chair Colin Bloomfield, Cr Leigh Colacino, Greg Doyle, Amy Harper, Anita Mulrooney, Wayne Morris, Leigh Hingston and Steve Savic. She said Destination Wollongong was not just about marketing the city to visitors but to businesses interested in investing in the whole region.
