“Traffic volumes on some roads can double and sometimes even triple during the holiday period,” a spokesman for the centre said.
“In particular, the M1 Princes Motorway, Princes Highway and the Kings Highway see a large increase in traffic volumes.”
The spokesman said heavy traffic was expected at Albion Park Rail, Berry, Nowra, Milton/Ulladulla and Batemans Bay and could add as much as an hour to travel times.
“If you’re planning on travelling between December 18 and January 4, 2016, make sure you allow plenty of travel time,” the spokesman said.
