GYMNASTICS
Oak Flats Albion Park Gymnastics and Acrobatics Club have been rewarded for an outstanding 2011 season with several awards at the NSW Gymnastics Association presentation night.
Three of the club's sports acrobatic groups were honoured at the awards in Burwood, which highlighted the best mens and womens disciplines in 2011 in trampoline, acrobatics, rhythmic, and general gymnastics, cheerleading and aerobics.
Seven Oak Flats members walked away with Sports Acrobatics top awards, including two teams named joint-winners in the same award category.
Level 4 pair Dana Armour and Mykenna Collier won every competition they entered this year, including the 2011 National Championships in Geelong.
The pair shared the Junior Levels Athletes of the Year award with Level 4 trio club members, Shelly Franke, Maddison Lacey and Tekia Cheyne, who also won every competition including the National Championships. Unable to separate the achievements of the two groups, Gymnastics NSW awarded them joint-winners.
