The NSW government says its foot remains firmly on the accelerator, despite little being heard since the release of the Illawarra Regional Transport Plan almost two years ago.
The 46-page document, made available in March 2014, states “an annual update ... including detailed reports on the progress of implementing the initiatives contained in the plan” would be provided.
Shellharbour MP Anna Watson wants to know why the region is yet to see one.
“It is a disgrace that the state government hasn’t bothered to release an annual update,” Ms Watson said.
“I would’ve thought if the state government was proud of its record on delivering the promised initiatives ... it would have had no problem releasing its promised annual update by now.
A spokesman for the transport minister, Andrew Constance, said: “The NSW government is proud to be delivering significant road and transport improvements across the Illawarra and we’ll be releasing an update for the community very soon.”
