Playing his first top grade game of the season, 20-year-old Scavarelli bowled just 20 balls as Wests went from 2/84 to be all out 103.
Scavarelli took a wicket with his final two deliveries off his first over, then wickets with the second, third and fourth ball of his second over to claim a hat-trick and five wickets in just six balls.
He took his sixth wicket in his third over and Wests’ final wicket with the second ball off his fourth over - giving him seven wickets in just 20 deliveries.
Keira officials said five wickets in six balls in first grade was a club record.
‘‘I’m amazed, still in a bit of shock to be honest,’’ Scavarelli said.
‘‘I was standing on the boundary between overs thinking is this for real.
Nick Bell took the hat-trick catch at mid-off to dismiss Michael Lee (0) as four Wests batsman made a duck in a forgettable day for the club.
Wests opener Oscar Oborn-Corby top-scored with 28 and at 2/84 there was nothing to suggest the carnage to quickly follow.
But Scavarelli demolished the middle and lower-order in an amazing spell of spin bowling.
Meanwhile, despite the excellent conditions for both teams at Keira Oval, Helensburgh’s home game against Dapto was washed out.
