The development application for the $43 million 151-unit residential and commercial development has now been published on Wollongong council’s website and will be on display until February 22.
Designed by Sydney-based architect Tony Owen Partners, the building would rise over the existing skyline and also activate the street front on Rawson and Regent streets, Supomme Property Development’s application says.
The plans say construction could begin “as soon as possible” as the excavation of the basement has already been done.
“Actual construction of this development is expected to be a catalyst for further investment in the western end of the Wollongong CBD and an important step toward the revitalisation of the area.”
The development will be considered by the Southern Joint Regional Planning Panel.
