The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted storms are a chance to hit the Illawarra and South Coast on Tuesday.
In Wollongong, temperatures should climb to 24 degrees on what is tipped to be a cloudy public holiday.
People planning outdoor activities should keep an umbrella handy – the weather bureau predicts a high chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and early evening.
The chance of a thunderstorm during the afternoon and evening is also on the cards.
The bureau suggests an 80 per cent likelihood of any rain in Wollongong, with the potential of between two and eight millimetres falling.
Temperatures in the low-to-mid 20s will be felt across the region and down the South Coast.
Between six and 20 millimetres could fall at Batemans Bay, the bureau said.
