About 40 students were on hand for their best start evaluation and familiarization day.
Kindergarten teacher Jessica Riddiford said while there were some anxious children and tearful parents in the morning, as the day wore on there were plenty of laughs and happy children.
‘’The kids are really excited to be here. They were a bit anxious in the morning but once they said their goodbyes to mum and dad, they’re having a great day,’’ Mrs Riddiford said.
School principal Kevin Tucker said the kindergarten intake of 40 children was an increase of about 10 from 2015.
‘’It’s good to see all the kids enjoying themselves today,’’ Mr Tucker said.
‘’We are very happy that more and more parents are choosing to bring their kids to our school.’’
