Orienteering is a sport which challenges the mind and body and promotes teamwork along with self-confidence. The Illawarra Kareelah Orienteering Club serves orienteerers in the region.
The opening event of the SummerGong Series is this Sunday February 7 at Stuart Park, North Wollongong from 10am-11.30am with everyone welcome.
The other events are on February 14 at Sandon Point Reserve, (corner of Point and Blackall Streets, Bulli); MacCabe Park, Wollongong on February 21 and Flagstaff Hill Park on February 28.

The highest scorer over the four weeks who is not a member of an orienteering club will be offered a free one year membership at the Illawarra Kareelah Orienteers.
Last year’s winner is now a keen orienteer and will be setting the courses for the third event in this series.
Also for small children, there will be a short course in the park where they will be visible at all times.
The SummerGong Series is open to the general public and ideal preparation for the South Coast Schools Orienteering Championships on May 18 for Years 5 and 6 at Croom Sports Complex.
