Sydney artist Simanion creates vivid, surreal drawings with an element of childhood wonder.
“I'm constantly trying to recreate the feeling I got when Dorothy entered Technicolour,” Simanion, a UOW graduate, said.
Simanion is launching a solo exhibition of new and re-worked pieces at Wollongong’s Beach Burrito, Friday from 6pm.
“I've worked on some pretty psychedelic and strange pieces. As they'll all be prints, I've decided to work on more artworks digitally than I otherwise might have, in some cases revisiting older drawings and giving them a new life. They should sit somewhere between beautiful and moderately unsettling”.
