A Wollongong councillor has raised concerns about the registration process for the NSW government’s public merger meetings, saying she and other residents had trouble applying to voice their views at the Tuesday forums.

Independent councillor Vicki Curran outlined her difficulties at Monday night’s council meeting, saying she had tried three times – through phone and the council boundary review website – to put her name down to speak.
“I know of other residents who have suffered a similar experience,” she said. “After three attempts I was not registered… I find it outrageous, it is another flaw in this process.”
The Mercury is aware of others who had difficulty registering on the website, with one public figure saying he was confronted by “the blue screen of death” for several days.
Cr Curran spoke at Tuesday afternoon’s public meeting after registering with staff immediately before the event.
A spokeswoman from the Department of Premier and Cabinet encouraged any residents who were unable to speak to make a written submission.
