Young is the third senior executive to depart the NRL head office after former head of game strategy development Shane Richardson – who has returned to club land with Souths – and former CEO Dave Smith who left in November.
Young will depart her post barely a year after replacing former COO Jim Doyle who returned to New Zealand at the end of 2014 to take up his old role with the Warriors.
It leaves ARLC chairman John Grant looking for a CEO and COO just a month out from the start of the NRL season.
Young cited family reasons for the move in which she will take up a part-time job in the financial sector in order to care for her ill father.
"It has been a great experience to be part of an organisation like the NRL and I want to thank the clubs, states, player groups and everyone else I have worked with over the last 15 months," Young said in a statement.
