The 206-centimetre Metro College Denver alumn has enjoyed a breakout year in the NBL after joining the Crocs on a two-year deal, averaging 10 points and six rebounds a game.
He produced his best performance of the season against the Hawks on Saturday. His 24 points and 15 rebounds was almost enough to steal the win for his side.
Crocs coach Shawn Dennis said post-match the 22-year-old deserves to claim the league’s top rookie award.
“That’s why I wanted him so bad,” Dennis said.
“You’d have to suggest he’s the front-runner for Rookie of the Year, I can’s see anyone knocking him off.
“He was absolutely outstanding and playing on one leg towards the end there.
“That kid’s just an absolute warrior and one of the best teammates anyone can have.”
