As work starts on the fit-out to the new eatery in two vacant sites next to Kinn Thai Restaurant in the GPT West Keira Street shopping centre, many people on social media are talking about their favourite dishes.
Criniti’s is an Italian restaurant with many traditional items on the menu.
But it appears one of the most popular among Wollongong and Shellharbour residents, who have traveled to Sydney to dine at one of its five outlets, is the Pizza al Metro.
The large pizza comes from an old Italian tradition dating back to the early nineteenth century from Vico Equense located near Sorrento.
The Pizza al Metro phenomenon soon spread throughout Italy and Europe and at Criniti’s Sydney restaurants is made from a wood fired crust and is so big it is served on long wooden boards in half metre, one metre, two metre and three metre lengths.
The Pizza al Metro is made to share and often comes with a challenge that is promoted on the http://www.crinitis.com.au/pizza-al-metro.html website.
