It’s the second time Wollongong has hosted the skateboarding race, bringing some of the world’s biggest names to compete in the region.
Athletes brought their longboards to the hill on Friday for race practice and “freeride”, so to strategise the fastest way down the race track.
The fun continues on Saturday with timed qualifying and some rounds of repechage racing late in the afternoon. Sunday is the big day where racers go head-to-head.
Spectactors are welcome to line-up along different sections of the track to cheer on locals like Mattie Rae and Dejan Djukic, or expat Jackson Shapiera and international heavy-weights Douglas “Dalua” Silva ranked 2nd in the world and Emily Pross the current Women’s World Champion.
