The Harold Matthews will kickoff at 10am with the SG Ball to follow at 11.30am.
“This is the first of nine very competitive matches, and we’ll be looking to start the season on the right foot,” Harold Matthews Cup Coach Adam Blake said.
“We beat Norths in a trial a couple of weeks ago, but they’ll be a different team when the real footy starts”.
The SG Ball Cup match between the Steelers and Norths is also expected to be a close encounter.
Coach Shane Millard will be looking for a controlled showing from his charges.
“Our go-forward has to be good if our talented backs are to be given their best chance to score,” Millard said.
“We’ve really concentrated on improving our defence during the trials, and today’s game will show just how much we’ve learned in this area. We’re really looking forward to the challenge.”
