Mathew McIntyre has won his second Zone 16 championship of the year after skipping his Oak Flats team to victory in the Champion of Club Champion Fours at Fairy Meadow Bowling Club.
McIntyre and partners Lee Smith, David Smith and Alan McDonald beat the Thirroul fours champions 26-7 in last Saturday's final.
Thirroul skip Paul Robertson and partners Barry Swann, Shane Jones and Liam Dun were not able to play their best match in the final after three wins to reach the decider, including a 24-5 victory over Wiseman Park in their semi-final.
Meanwhile, Illawarra representative McIntyre has been one of Zone 16's form players in recent weeks and also captured the Illawarra Champion of Club Champion singles crown.
McIntyre and his fours team were in awesome touch in their four wins, to take the Champion of Club Champion Fours crown.
The Oak Flats team had a convincing 25-8 win over The Orb's Scott Gillies, Andrew Spriggs, Joe Gerards and Craig Griffiths in their semi-final.
Oak Flats won on forfeit over Albion Park in round one. They then beat hosts Fairy Meadow 20-16 in round two, before accounting for the Dapto club champions 29-16 in the quarter-finals.
The tournament featured the club fours champions from Illawarra Zone 16 and was the last major Zone 16 championship for 2012.
