Turnout of champions expected at reunion

SURF LIFE SAVING 

North Wollongong Surf Life Saving Club will be holding a members' reunion at the surf club this Olympic year this Saturday.

The club hopes that up to 200 present and past active members as well as associate members, NWSLSC football club members of both rugby codes, ladies auxiliary members including past netball players, sponsors, patrons and honorary members will get together for the occasion.

The focus for the night will be on North Wollongong's Australian surf lifesaving champions.

There are 16 champions still alive that organisers hope will attend the reunion.

Most of those people have already indicated that they will be be there, including John Vaughan who won national titles in 1951, '52 and '53, former Olympic Games gold medallist Mark Kerry, Phil Clayton, Jonathan Crowe, Scott Baxter, Brett Cooper, Nicole Laurie (nee Tobin) and Lisa Bourke (nee Norris).
