The medical imaging expert called it “tiny” but a five centimetre tear didn’t sound small to me.
Regardless, the show must go on and I will continue as a participant in Dance For Cancer, the Cancer Council NSW’s annual fundraiser.
I owe it to the people who have already donated via www.everydayhero.com.au/event/starsofwollongong2016 and those who will donate in the future.
The injury wasn’t due to a samba move or shuffle slide gone wrong, but rather a gym related incident on Saturday.
I went to grab my drink bottle and tripped over myself in overly dramatic style.
However I have full faith in my dance partner and choreographer Alexandra McKeon, a former cheerleader for the Dragons and the Hawks, to help me push through the pain.
McKeon has been dancing most of her life with a focus on ballet and ballroom, and was pumping pom-poms at sports venues for the last decade. She has a plan to work around my injury during recovery.
We are confident our performance will bring the house down at the gala fundraising dinner in June and to raise $3000 for the Cancer Council.
