Minnamurra resident Kieran, 12, has enjoyed plenty of success in the sport of late.
The Corpus Christi Catholic High School, Oak Flats student won the NSW state finals of the Australian Skateboarding League in January.
This qualified Kieran for the invite-only Australian Skateboarding League national final, which took place at Riverslide Skate Park, Melbourne earlier this month.
Kieran, competing in the 12-and-under division, qualified first through the heats and went on to skate a near-perfect final to win.
Some of Australia's best competed for $10,000 and prizes. Although the youngster more frequently participates in vertical-style skating at competitions, the Melbourne finals were a street-style event.
Kieran’s father Mark said his son had only been competing for about nine months, but had been skateboarding since the age of four or five.
