Security staff chased Pedro Suarez from the mall on Saturday afternoon after he allegedly crouched to the ground and trained his mobile phone camera in compromising places.
Suarez came to the attention of security when he crouched outside a Cotton On store and began filming, Wollongong Local Court heard on Monday.
A few minutes later he was allegedly captured on CCTV outside a Chop Stix franchise.
There, he bent over with his right hand outstretched in order to film up the skirt of one of two “Asian females” who were waiting for food, police documents tendered to the court allege.
He allegedly then moved beside the females, knelt down against the glass display cabinet, still with his arm outstretched.
He allegedly continued filming around the womens’ legs as he spoke to the store operator, before he spotted security and fled.
The court heard Suarez was on bail for other offences when these new allegations arose. He was arrested on Sunday and has been refused bail.
The matter returns to court next month.
