Firearms stolen in separate home invasions

Police are investigating the theft of firearms during separate break and enters.

A house on Free Selectors Road in Foxground was ransacked between 3pm and 6pm yesterday.

The firearms were secured in a safe but the thieves managed to make off with four pistols and a sum of cash.

The pistols  include a Ruger MKII .22 calibre semi-automatic pistol, a Ruger Blackhawk .357 revolver, a Ruger .22 calibre rimfire revolver and a Browning .22 calibre semi-automatic pistol.

In a separate incident, a 24-year-old man was woken by noises in his house on Cleveland Road, Dapto, around 1.15am today.

The 24-year-old heard people run out the back door and saw two males dressed in black get into a car and drive off.

He reported an air rifle and amount of jewellery stolen.
