As its draft annual budget goes out for public comment, the council has also updated its website to show which local projects – including pools, cycleways and sports fields – will be targeted in 2016/17.
More than $14.6 million will be spent on roads and related assets, such as bus stops, traffic lights and roundabouts, while $18.1 will be spent on footpaths and cycleways.
The ever more costly West Dapto expansion will be allocated $12.2 million in the next financial year, with a further $60 million to be spent by mid-2020, the documents show.
The council will also spend $13.7 million on its buildings, with major building renewals to include the $3.2 million upgrade of the Thirroul Beach kiosk precinct, and the $1.2 million extension of Bulli surf life saving club.
About $450,000 will be spent on renewing a generator and water harvesting building at Mount Keira Summit Park, and more than $1 million will be invested into safety facilities at the Market Street car park.
Among the most expensive community building renewals is a new roof in place of the existing asbestos structure at the Slacky Flat Betting Ring in Bulli ($690,000) and an upgrade of the roof at the Kembla Terraces buildings ($910,000).
Dozens of footpaths and cycleways will be built or renewed, with the Grand Pacific Walk in the northern suburbs and the Tramway project along the Blue Mile allocated the biggest budgets.
More than $700,000 will be spent on Crown Street Mall upgrades, while the upgrade of west Crown Street footpaths will cost $2 million.
Outside the city, more than $2.3 million will be spent on street upgrades in Warrawong’s town centre, while Unanderra, Helensburgh and Thirroul commercial areas will also be upgraded.
