The win comes on the eve of this week’s Illawarra Women In Business Awards and Karen Meiring de Gonzalez said entering and winning Best New Business in 2012 had been a great stepping stone.

More than 1000 people from around the nation watched Mrs Meiring de Gonzalez being presented the awards statuette, certificate and gained recognition as an industry leader in Sydney on Saturday. “This award is a direct reflection of a brilliant team,” she said.

Judges mystery shopped the 13 Australian finalists and Mrs Meiring de Gonzalez said her staff must have made a big impression.

She said they were all highly skilled and made a huge commitment to education, personal development and service delivery.

“It takes a certain calibre of therapist to keep up with the demands of revising skin,” she said.

“Although the "tick" in the Skin Correctives logo suggests that we correct skin, the "tick" is the core principle in the business of doing the correct thing at all times. Whether this is in the way we perform treatments, deal with each other or our clients or hygiene and reception protocols.  The correct way is the only way.  It is equally as important to correctly identify a skin concern and performing the correct treatment required for results.”

The national award on the weekend came only days after Mrs Meiring de Gonzalez finished judging duties with IMB Bank’s Terry Widdicombe in the New Business Award category for this Friday’s IWIB Awards.

“This was such an awesome experience hearing the inspiring stories of new business owners who are passionate about what they do,” she said.
