Back in 2007, the Warriors won 44-16 in a year where we finished in the top for and the Dragons missed the finals.
Two years later, I was back in New Zealand playing in just my second game for the Dragons. After signing mid-season, it was a surreal moment to run on against the Warriors, after playing more than 100 games for them.
It probably is a fair assumption to say the Dragons style of play troubles the Warriors.
Joining Wayne Bennett’s team in 2009, the Dragons wanted to teams to get into the arm wrestle so we could wear them down.
Paul McGregor is banking on similar plans this year.
In contrast, the Warriors play their best with a physical forward pack and an adlib style off the back of it.
It’s a huge game for both clubs. The Dragons could be in the top eight by Sunday night, while the Warriors need to stay in touch.
