Hundreds of shoppers and staff have been evacuated from Sydney's Broadway Shopping Centre after a fire broke out on Friday morning.

Fire services were called about 9.20am with reports of a fire on level 3 of the inner-city shopping complex.
A spokesman for NSW Fire and Rescue said a "couple of hundred" people were evacuated and that fire crews were dispatched from Glebe, Pyrmont, Newtown, the City of Sydney and Alexandria.
The fire had been extinguished by 10am and crews remain at the scene.
It is not yet known how or where the fire began or the extent of damage.
