That’s why Caitlyn Zalewski, of the Cancer Council NSW Southern Region office, is urging businesses, community groups and individuals to ‘’gather, share, give’’ this May.
‘’This year Cancer Council hopes to recruit over 11,500 morning tea hosts, including 1000 in this region,’’ Ms Zalewski said.
‘’The money raised goes back into the local community to fund support services, prevention programs as well as world-class research.’’
An estimated 2800 people will be diagnosed with cancer this year throughout the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.
The official date of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is May 26 – but people can set a date throughout the month, or even in June.
‘’Work colleagues, community or school groups, friends and family can come together and share in a cuppa and give back to their communities,’’ Ms Zalewski said.
