Both of the league’s heavyweights were bundled out of the knockout competition during the week against NSW NPL Men’s 1 competition.
Bulli fell 2-1 to the Wollongong Wolves but could very well have got more from the match had they taken their chances while United were beaten 2-0 by Sydney Olympic away from home.
They will turn their focus back to the local competition this weekend for what shapes as a blockbuster clash at Macedonia Park.
Bulli are still unbeaten to start the season and are two points of fellow undefeated side Kemblawarra Fury at the top of the competition.
United have mixed their form in 2016, but still hold on to a spot in the top-five thanks to a gritty 2-1 win over Port Kembla last weekend.
The pair met in last season’s preliminary final which United prevailed in 3-2.
In other matches on Saturday, Shell Cove host Kemblawarra Fury, Picton Rangers meet Woonona and Wollongong Olympic face Albion Park.
On Sunday, Port Kembla play Tarrawanna and South Coast United search for their first win against Cringila.
