Losses to both of the early pacesetters, Gerringong Lions and Nowra Bomaderry Jets, over the weekend saw Shellharbour Sharks, Kiama Knights and Port Kembla Blacks move level on six competition points.
Jamberoo Superoos are a further point back after handing the Lions a 16-14 defeat on Saturday.
On the same day, Port Kembla showed their resurgent form has been no fluke by outlasting Warilla-Lake South Gorillas with a gritty 16-14 win.
The Jets fell 24 hours later to an impressive Sharks outfit in a convincing 20-6 win on Sunday. Kiama ensured it would be crowded at the top at the conclusion of the round and kept Albion Park-Oak Flats Eagles winless in the process with a 22-14 win.
In the round’s other match, Berry Shoalhaven Heads Magpies outlasted Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs in a 22-20 triumph.
