Firefighters were called to prop up the roof of a Unanderra supermarket yesterday after a car crashed through two supporting beams.
An elderly man was treated by paramedics for minor injuries and taken to Wollongong Hospital after his car hit the poles about 11.30am.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Unanderra and Wollongong were called to the scene and stabilised the structure.
Despite the drama, it was business as usual at the Woolworths supermarket yesterday afternoon with only minor damage to the outer building.
