More than 4000 public and private secondary school students from the Illawarra and Shoalhaven have explored future career and study options at the 2016 Illawarra Schools Careers Expo this week.

Organised by the Illawarra Careers Advisers Network, the annual event was held at Illawarra Hockey Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday, offering students the opportunity to find out about prospective jobs, careers and further education.
It included representatives from universities, TAFE Illawarra, private colleges and government employers like the Australian Defence Force, NSW Police Force, FACS, ATO and Human Services.
Expo Coordinator Rhonda Willingham said education partners included the NSW Department of Education, UOW and TAFE Illawarra as well as BlueScope Steel, Catholic Education Office, Defence Force Recruiting and Workplace Learning.
