There were several good captures over the two-day event with solid blue eye trevalla and gemfish weighed in.
This super deep water fishing will only get better over the next month with the currents slowing down, making dropping a big lead chunk to the bottom in 400 metres depth easier - that is until you get to wind it back up with 20 odd kilos of fish on the hook.

The main comment to come out of the events was all the big fish were taken on very fresh bait.
Latest alpine dam levels show Eucumbene steady at 38 per cent, Jindabyne steady at 74 per cent and Tantangra lifting slightly to 17 per cent despite local reports of good showers.
