Early in May came the news via their Facebook page that the band was re-forming.
Now there’s also a solo album from Peter Garrett to look forward to.
The former Mittagong resident’s album, a nine-tracker to be called A Version of Now, will be released on July 15 with the first single Tall Trees released digitally on Monday.
Apparently the songs came to Garrett before the idea of the solo album.
“As I was finishing my memoir, melodies and lines kept dropping into my head and, big surprise, I ended up writing a few songs,” Garrett said.
“Once these tunes were out in the sunlight I decided I might as well jump into a studio and record what I had along with a few other bits and pieces I’d always liked.“
The band on the nine-track album includes Midnight Oil’s guitarist Martin Rotsey, Jet's Mark Wilson on bass and Paul Kelly’s drummer Pete Luscombe.
