The task for both clubs is simple - win on Wednesday night and qualify for the FFA Cup main draw.
It’s an enormous opportunity.
At the start of the campaign, it was something as a club we always set out to do.
While we always kept one eye on our weekend fixtures, making the main draw was an opportunity we also didn’t want to pass up.
Now it is in touching distance, it’s a chance we don’t want to waste.
I expect Wagga will provide a difficult final hurdle.
It would be easy to write the Riverina club off simply because of their position a few divisions below us, but that's not a thought we are going to entertain on the night.
They haven’t made it to this stage of the competition by fluke and will be just as determined as we are to progress.
From what I know, they’ve had no problems scoring this season but should also give us plenty of opportunities to find the net ourselves.
For us, the match has come at a good time.
We were pretty disappointed with the way we played in the league on Sunday against Parramatta.
The quick turnaround is exactly what we need if we want to bounce back into the winner's circle.
It should give the boys little time to dwell on the performance. Like me, I know they were pretty disappointed with our display.
I expect to see a reaction from them and I confident that's what we will get.
Unfortunately we won't be able to take a completely healthy squad into the match.
Suspensions and injuries mean that again we will be playing with a limited squad on the big night.
Zac MacKenzie and James Baldacchino will both be serving bans while David Stojic (study commitments) and Chris Price (injury) also aren’t likely to suit up.
As has been the way throughout this competition, we will play a mixture of young talent in the knockout tournament. I am confident whoever gets the chance will step up to the mark and give us of us every chance of making a return to the main draw where we met A-League club Central Coast Mariners two seasons ago.
