Thousands got their groove on for a pre-run warm-up of Zumba dancing, in preparation for the fun five kilometres ahead.
From 8am participants had to make their way up Cliff Road to the lighthouse then back down to North Beach, while running through colour explosion points and foam pits.
“It’s the funnest five kilometres, it’s the happiest five kilometres in the world,” said i98 radio announcer Fairlie Hamilton.
“Look at my beautiful blonde locks, they’re going to be purple by the end of this or green.”
The event aims to encourage people of all fitness levels to get off the couch and exercise, either finishing the event via a sprint or a walk.
Participants can also choose to support their favourite charity and raise funds for taking part.
