Wollongong member Jane Cipants reckons the highly respected human rights organisation’s actions have changed over the years but are still “very relevant’’.
On Saturday, May 28 Ms Cipants will join fellow Wollongong group members at Bulli Beach Cafe from 9.30am to write letters to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the unique and well-respected human rights organisation.
She said it was fitting that every year in May group members and supporters meet at a cafe to take pen to paper for the many current-day cases of injustice, imprisonment, “disappearances” and inaction by governments around the world.
‘’It is amazing – the pen is still mightier than the sword,’’ Ms Cipants said.
