Snow and hail this morning transformed parts of the South Coast and Southern Highlands into a winter wonderland.
Residents as far north as Gerroa awoke to find a light blanket of snow surrounding their homes.
Parts of the Southern Highlands also took on a wintry appearance, with temperatures in Moss Vale dipping to 0.5 degrees at 6am.
Hail has also been reported across the Shoalhaven and southern parts of the Illawarra.
Large amounts of small hail fell at Sussex Inlet around 3am from a slow-moving thunderstorm.
Snow is affecting driving conditions on the Hume, Federal and Kings Highways and the SES is urging extreme caution when driving through these areas.
