The worst of the Illawarra’s wild weather has now passed, the State Emergency Service has advised.
An intense low pressure system that hit the region early this morning has now rolled northwards along the NSW coastline.

‘‘The rain seems to have moved north as predicted by the bureau,’’ Illawarra South Coast region controller Greg Murphy said.
‘‘There’s still a bit of wind in the tail end of it, but the system has largely moved on.’’
The SES has responded to more than 310 calls for help across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven in the past 24 hours.
The vast majority of jobs have been in Nowra which recorded 170 calls for urgent assistance.
In the Illawarra, the SES has taken 57 calls for help.
Mr Murphy said leaking and damaged roofs had created the most work for volunteers.
Crews were likely to finalise all repair works by late today.
