Owner Rajarshi Ray is the festival coordinator and said most of the wineries involved were in the Gerringong, Shoalhaven Heads, Kangaroo Valley and Nowra areas.

“We have got a good group of people involved this year starting in the north with Crooked River Wines and Roselea Vineyard near Gerringong. Then there are the four of us here Two Figs, Coolangatta, Mountain Ridge and Silos. Then you have got Yarrawa in Kangaroo Valley, Cambewarra Estate near Nowra and Bawley Vale further down the coast.”

Mr Ray expected up to 10,000 $10 festival tasting glasses to be sold. Generally for every two glasses there are three people. So he is expecting up to 15,000 people to visit local cellar doors across the June long weekend. In 2015 there were 10,000 even though it rained on two days.

“We are finding people are now chartering their own buses. Last year we had up to 50 private buses..people doing their own thing in groups of up to 40 people. 15,000 to 16,000 will make it the biggest food and wine event on the South Coast. This year we have a huge number of stalls representing the South Coast and local produce.”
