Police have charged a man over a glassing assault at a Balgownie hotel on Friday night.
At about 11pm, the victim was playing pool with friends at the hotel on Balgownie Road when he became involved in an argument with two other men.
Allegedly, during the incident he was hit in the face with a schooner glass, causing extensive lacerations.
Security officers intervened and began to escort one of the men outside when he allegedly head-butted one of them.
The 19-year-old victim was taken to Wollongong Hospital for treatment to lacerations to his cheek and eye socket.
A security officer was also treated at the scene for minor facial injuries.
Two men, both aged 19, were arrested in a nearby car park and taken to Wollongong Police Station.
One of the men was charged with reckless wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and given conditional bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on November 6.
The other man was released without charge pending further investigations.
